From 7 to 13 June 2026, the II World Chovgan Championship brought together the world's leading Chovgan nations at the Bina Equestrian Center in Baku, Azerbaijan. Over seven unforgettable days, spectators witnessed outstanding horsemanship, tactical excellence, and the enduring spirit of one of the world's oldest equestrian sports.

Seven days of horsemanship, tactics, and unforgettable competition
The championship welcomed 10 national teams representing five continents, highlighting the rapidly growing international reach of Chovgan. Teams from Azerbaijan, Chile, Uruguay, Niger, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Poland, Türkiye, Nigeria, and Kuwait competed for the prestigious world title, with the tournament divided into two groups, followed by semifinals and medal matches.
The group stage, held from 7 to 11 June, delivered a series of intense and closely contested encounters. Players demonstrated exceptional skill, determination, and teamwork, while fans enjoyed a vibrant atmosphere celebrating both sporting excellence and the rich cultural traditions associated with Chovgan.
The excitement reached its peak during the knockout rounds. The semifinals featured dramatic battles as teams fought for a place in the final. The bronze medal match proved to be one of the most thrilling contests of the championship, with Uruguay edging past Niger 3–2 in a hard-fought encounter to secure a place on the podium.
The grand final saw hosts Azerbaijan face an impressive Chile side. In front of an enthusiastic home crowd at the Bina Equestrian Center, the Azerbaijani team delivered a commanding performance, defeating Chile 3–0 to successfully defend their title and become World Champions for the second consecutive time.
