Chovken in Nigeria: international competition and regional leadership
Nigeria's Chovken record combines world championship participation, hosting the African Championship and representation within the International Chovken Federation's regional structure. Official ICF pages document each of these connections with the sport.
Nigeria at the World Championships
Nigeria appears in the field for the 2024 World Chovken Championship, held at the Bina Equestrian Centre in Baku from 10 to 16 June. Ten nations took part in that edition.
The team returned for the 2026 World Championship at the same Baku venue from 7 to 13 June. The official report includes Nigeria among ten teams representing five continents.
Hosting the African Championship in Abuja
Guards Polo Club in Abuja hosted the African Chovken Championship 2025 from 5 to 8 November. Nigeria competed with Niger, Ghana and Egypt over four competition days.
Nigeria finished first in the published final standings, ahead of Niger, Ghana and Egypt. The ICF tournament report provides the event account and gallery, while the African regional overview places the championship in its wider context.
